Dr. Christabel Aba Sam is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of English, University of Cape Coast (Ghana), specializing in Gender and Writing, Literary Theory, and Postcolonial Studies. She holds a PhD in Literary Studies alongside MPhil and B.Ed degrees from the same institution. Her research focuses on masculinity studies, postcolonial futures, spatial politics, and the intersections of literature with socio-cultural dynamics.
Dr. Sam is a fellow at the African Multiple Cluster of Excellence in Lagos and Bayreuth Academy, Germany. Her work analyzes how contemporary Ghanaian Afrobeats and literary texts reflect masculine identities and socio-political contexts. She has published in journals like Research in African Literatures and Critical African Studies.
Her current project explores masculine representations in Ghanaian Afrobeats, bridging literary analysis with sonic cultural studies. She teaches courses on literature-society interfaces and research methodologies to both undergraduates and graduates.
