Christa Santina Wirth is a Professor of History (1750-Present) at the University of Agder's Department of Religion, Philosophy and History. Her research focuses on global migration, US history, and the history of social sciences, particularly transnational entanglements during the Cold War. She earned her PhD from the University of Zurich and held postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University and the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC. Wirth co-founded the 'Transnational History Switzerland' and 'Knowledge and the Cold War' networks, and collaborates with ETH Zurich's History of Knowledge Center.
Her major work, *Memories of Belonging* (2015), examines Italian migrant descendants in the US from 1884 to present, analyzing transnational networks and generational identity. Current projects include a manuscript on Cold War anthropologists between Chicago and Manila. She teaches global migration, US empire, and memory studies.
Recent publications explore Cold War social sciences, Philippine nation-building, and the intersection of decolonization and intellectual history.
