About
Chris Weinberger is Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Associate Director of the School of Advanced Materials Discovery at Colorado State University. His research focuses on computational materials science, nanomechanics, and ultrahigh temperature ceramics.
He leads the Advanced Computational Materials Engineering Laboratory investigating mechanical behavior, phase stability, and deformation mechanisms in extreme environments. His work integrates multiscale modeling with experimental validation for materials design.
Current research projects include NSF-funded work on topologically designed ultrahigh temperature ceramics, DOE-funded studies on plastic flow in BCC metals, and Army Research Laboratory collaborations on multi-scale characterization. He advises multiple graduate students in mechanical engineering and materials science.
