Chris Sampson

Chris Sampson is a Cello Tutor at the Guildhall Young Artists Taunton, part of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He is a versatile musician active as a freelance cellist, conductor, composer, and teacher. His performance engagements include orchestras such as the London Mozart Players and Bristol Ensemble, with collaborations at venues like the Royal Albert Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral. He has soloed with the Taunton Sinfonietta and Symphonic Ibiza, and his compositions include work for theatrical productions like Jeckyll and Hyde with Taunton Thespians.

Educated at the Royal Northern College of Music, Sampson has taught at institutions including the Dartington Summer School and South West Music School. Beyond music, he serves as Worship Director at St George’s Church, Wilton, and leads the ‘Pursuit Of Gospel’ choir and band. His creative pursuits extend to a 5-string electric cello, home recording studio, and experimental music production.
