Chris Sammon

Professor Chris Sammon is a chemist and academic at the University of Sheffield's Materials and Engineering Research Institute, specializing in Polymer Science. He holds the academic rank of Professor and leads research in biomaterials, hydrogels, and spectroscopic techniques. His work focuses on polymer systems at biological interfaces, including hydrophilic matrices, drug delivery, and regenerative medical applications.

Key research interests include the design of amphiphilic hydrogels, vibrational spectroscopy for material characterization, and intervertebral disc regeneration.
