Research interests include polyoxometalate synthesis, fluorescent probes, and molecular cages for sensing. Current PhD projects explore photochromic materials, molecular dynamics probes, and mineral beneficiation technologies. Ritchie collaborates widely on projects funded by the Australian Research Council and industry partners.
He has contributed to over 57 research outputs and leads/co-invests in multiple grants, including advanced radiochemical technologies and RAFT polymer development. His patent activity includes a 2019 invention in chemical synthesis.
