Chris Pallant

Chris Pallant is Professor and Head of the School of Design at the University of Greenwich. He joined in 2024 after serving as Faculty Director for Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange at Canterbury Christ Church University.

His research investigates creative production cultures through methodologies combining archival study, interviews, and textual analysis, with specialized focus on animation history and industry practices. He has authored seminal works on Disney animation, storyboarding techniques, animated landscapes, and British studio Smallfilms.

Professor Pallant has also led major industry-academia initiatives, securing £5.1 million from the European Regional Development Fund to establish the Hi3 Network. This project delivered over 1000 hours of support fostering SME growth through research collaborations. He later founded the Creative Innovation Hub to connect students, alumni, and creative industries.
