Chris Murray

Chris Murray is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Houston. His research focuses on time series econometrics, business cycle analysis, and international finance. He has held his current position since 2003, following an Assistant Professorship from 1998–2003.

Current research interests include unit root testing, purchasing power parity analysis, and structural change modeling. He has contributed to prominent journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Review of Economics and Statistics. His work often employs advanced econometric techniques to analyze macroeconomic data and policy implications.

Teaching responsibilities include graduate courses like Econometrics 1 and Time Series Analysis 1. He has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics (2006–2009). Ongoing research explores inflation persistence, Taylor rule dynamics, and weak identification issues in macroeconomic models.
