Chris Mannaerts is an Associate Professor of Environmental Satellite Hydrology at the Faculty of Geo-information Sciences & Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente, Netherlands. He holds MSc degrees in (soil) physical chemistry, environmental sanitation engineering, and a PhD in agricultural hydrology from the University of Ghent, Belgium. His research focuses on hydrological remote sensing, biogeochemical data applications in water-food-health security, and climate impacts on ecosystems. He actively contributes to international networks like GEO, promoting open access to Earth observation data.
