Chris Jones

Chris Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Sheffield Hallam University's Department of Humanities, within the College of Social Sciences and Arts. He holds a PhD and has been at the university since 2007. His research focuses on poetry, artistic collaboration, and creative processes, with notable works including Skin (2015) and Little Piece of Harm (2021). Jones has received the Eric Gregory Award (1996) and a Forward Prize nomination (2011). He has supervised doctoral students on topics like non-human animal encounters and dramatic monologues. His creative work blends historical and personal narratives, often exploring themes of human relationships and societal issues. Jones also serves as an external examiner for MA Creative Writing programs at the University of Hull and University of Leicester. Beyond academia, he collaborates with artists like Paul Evans and hosts the Two-Way Poetry Podcast, engaging with contemporary poets and literary analysis.
