Chris Howell

Chris Howell serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Charleston, where his research centers on American Political Development, experimental methodologies, and media studies with critical focus on negative group identity construction. He teaches POLI 101 - American Government and maintains active scholarly engagement.

Dr. Howell earned his BA from the College of Charleston and PhD from the University of South Carolina, with doctoral research examining 1970s antifeminist movements and long-term consequences of the Equal Rights Amendment battle. His academic trajectory demonstrates deep institutional ties to both universities.

His research spans American Political Development, Experimental Research, Media Studies, Group Identity, Political Psychology, Gender Politics, and Public Health Policy. Current work includes co-authored publications analyzing Covid-19 pandemic impacts, innovative pedagogy approaches, and political psychology frameworks, reflecting interdisciplinary methodological rigor.
