Chris Higgins is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Formative Education at Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Yale University. His research focuses on formative education, virtue ethics, and the role of education as a public good. Higgins has led major grants, including a $1.5M Kern Family Foundation grant for formative leadership education and an NEH grant exploring translation in the humanities. His work spans books like The Good Life of Teaching and journals, addressing topics from pedagogical ethics to institutional crises in higher education. Higgins co-directs the Formative Leadership Education Project and teaches courses on educational inquiry and philosophy.
