About
Professor Chris Groves is a faculty member at the Department of Engineering, Durham University, holding the academic rank of Professor. He contributes to the Durham Energy Institute (DEI), Advanced Materials and Electronic Devices, and Centre for Molecular and Nanoscale Electronics.
Research Interests: Groves focuses on photovoltaic technologies, particularly organic photovoltaics (OPV), perovskite solar cells, and unconventional computing. His work bridges charge transport physics in disordered materials with techno-economic modeling of energy systems. He has supervised 10 PhD students to completion and leads EPSRC-funded Centres for Doctoral Training (ReNU and ReNU+).
Scientific Awards:
- Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)
Teaching: Delivers Analogue Electronics at undergraduate levels and Advanced Electronics at postgraduate level, emphasizing non-Silicon CMOS technologies and solar PV applications in energy systems.
