Chris Carr is a Professor at California Polytechnic State University's Orfalea College of Business. He teaches domestic and international business law, business regulation, administrative agencies, public policy, business ethics, presentation innovation, and design, with a focus on data visualization in business communication. A dedicated educator, he designed and led the business school’s MBA and undergraduate global supply chain courses to China, alongside additional trips to India, providing students firsthand exposure to Asia's business landscape. He also serves as a visiting professor at Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management.
Professor Carr earned his Juris Doctor with cum laude distinction from Santa Clara University, following bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the University of Nebraska and UCLA, respectively. His academic excellence was recognized through multiple student-nominated awards for outstanding faculty member and the Jacobsen Faculty Fellowship.
His professional engagements extend beyond the classroom, including roles as Associate Dean post-tenure and contributions to Cal Poly’s AASCB accreditation reaffirmation and its entry into Bloomberg Businessweek’s top 100 undergraduate business programs. Carr also served as a Fulbright Senior Specialist, advising on capacity building, rule of law, and academic program development across Tunisia, Pakistan, and Mongolia.
