Chris Brummer is the Agnes Williams Sesquicentennial Professor of Financial Technology at Georgetown University Law Center and Faculty Director of Georgetown’s Institute of International Economic Law. He actively advises policymakers, startups, and nonprofits globally on innovation, regulation, and inclusion challenges in financial technology. His public service includes membership on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Subcommittee on Virtual Currencies, the European Securities and Markets Authority’s Financial Innovation Standing Committee, and the Biden-Harris Transition team for Treasury ART.

Professor Brummer co-chairs the CNAS Task Force on FinTech, Crypto, and National Security and founded Washington DC’s annual Fintech Week. He hosts CQ Roll Call’s Fintech Beat podcast and has delivered keynote addresses for the SEC, FinCEN, and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency during Black History celebrations.
