Chris Barrett

Chris Barrett is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Practice at the University of Cumbria, joining in 2022. With extensive experience in healthcare settings, including residential care and patient transport services, he transitioned to academia after a career as a registered paramedic with West Midlands Ambulance Service.

His research and teaching interests focus on healthcare-related fields, specifically: biosciences, advanced life support, patient assessment, clinical skills, and holistic care for people living with dementia.

Barrett actively contributes to staff mentorship and education, having served as Airway Lead for his locality during his operational paramedic career. He aims to empower learners to drive diversification and advancement in the paramedic profession.
