Chris Allen

Dr. Chris Allen is an Associate Professor in the School of Criminology at the University of Leicester. His research focuses on hate extremism, policies to counter such phenomena, and their societal impacts. Over two decades, he has investigated street-level Islamophobia, ideologies of the British far-right, the Prevent strategy, and trends in hate crime.

His work bridges academic and public spheres, with peer-reviewed journal publications, monographs, and contributions to platforms like The Conversation. He regularly engages with broadcast media and policy-making bodies, including submissions to the House of Lords Select Committee on Religious Offences, the All Party Parliamentary Group on Islamophobia, and the Home Affairs Select Committee on Hate Crimes.
