Chris Aalberts

Dr. Chris Aalberts is a Lecturer and researcher in political communication at the Department of Media and Communication, Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication, Erasmus University Rotterdam. He specializes in qualitative research on citizen-political engagement, focusing on journalistic innovation, populism, social media dynamics, spin doctoring, EU politics, local governance, and youth political participation. His teaching includes the Media and Journalism master’s program at Erasmus University. Previously, he taught at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Antwerp after defending his PhD dissertation on youth political engagement at the University of Amsterdam.
