Chitra Gupta

Chitra Gupta serves as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Wayne State University, leveraging 20+ years of corporate leadership experience from roles including Controller and Vice President of Finance at major corporations such as Goldman Sachs, Korn Ferry, and Wella.

Her educational credentials include a Master of Business Administration from UCLA (2021), Certified Public Accountant license from AICPA (2008), and Chartered Accountant degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (2004).

Specializing in technical finance and accounting, Gupta employs interactive teaching methodologies through diverse modalities including debates, applied exercises, and real-world case studies. Her expertise spans Corporate Finance, Personal Finance, Financial Reporting, Change Management, Financial Accounting, and Managerial Accounting, with a focus on bridging theoretical concepts to practical corporate applications.

Currently teaching Personal Finance Planning (FIN1200/BA1200) for Fall and Winter 2025 terms, she has previously served as a guest speaker at Loyola Marymount University and Cal State Universities. Her corporate background includes leading finance department transformations during M&A transitions and conducting executive training on GAAP standards implementation for senior leadership teams.
