Chima Korieh

Chima J. Korieh is a Professor in the Department of History at Marquette University, specializing in 19th-20th century West African social and economic history, gender relations, and comparative slavery. He serves as Director of the Biafra War Oral History/Genocide Project and edits the journals Igbo Studies Review and Nigerian Studies Review.

• Education: Ph.D. from the University of Toronto (2003)

His research focuses on colonial and post-colonial Africa, gender, and the impact of global conflicts on African societies. His recent work includes The Land Has Changed (2010), which examines colonial agricultural policies in Eastern Nigeria through a socioeconomic lens.
