About
Chida Ramanathan, PhD, is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Memphis' College of Health Sciences, where he has been a faculty member since fall 2019. He earned his doctorate in Animal Behavior and Physiology from Madurai Kamaraj University (India) in 2002, complemented by MS and BS degrees in Botany from the same institution. His postdoctoral training included research on neural mechanisms of diurnality at Michigan State University and circadian genomics at the University of Memphis.
Dr. Ramanathan's research explores fundamental connections between molecular circadian clocks and physiological outputs. Key focus areas include:
- Reciprocal regulation of circadian rhythms and cellular metabolism
- Oxidative stress pathways in aging
- Functional genomics of circadian systems
- Neural basis of diurnal behavior
No awards, grants, student advisements, or dedicated laboratory resources are detailed in the available information.
