Chiara Giannarelli

Chiara Giannarelli, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, affiliated with the Departments of Medicine and Pathology. She specializes in the immune mechanisms of atherosclerosis and precision medicine.

Research Interests

Her work focuses on vascular inflammation, T-cell plasticity, and immune profiling for precision medicine in cardiovascular disease. She uses single-cell technologies like CyTOF and scRNAseq to decode immune cell heterogeneity in atherosclerotic lesions.

Publications highlight her contributions to understanding macrophage networks, immune-metabolic crosstalk, phthalate toxicity, and SARS-CoV-2 effects on cardiovascular pathology. Her studies integrate multi-omics approaches to identify novel therapeutic targets.
