Cheryl Wellington

Professor Cheryl Wellington is affiliated with the University of British Columbia's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Her research examines genetic and environmental risk factors for dementia, focusing on apolipoprotein E metabolism, traumatic brain injury, and cerebrovascular dysfunction. She developed a novel concussion model (CHIMERA) that replicates human head injury biomechanics. Key projects include drug discovery for apolipoprotein function enhancement and tissue engineering approaches for cerebrovascular health.
