Cheryl Towler Weese is a Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where she also serves as Director of the MDes Graphic Design program and Associate Dean for CADA Academic Programs. As a founding partner of Studio Blue, a Chicago-based design firm, she collaborates with museums, universities, and public-serving organizations to explore the civic potential of design.

Her research focuses on design's role in public discourse and collective consciousness, spanning projects in publication, identity, interactive, and environmental design. Her work has been published, exhibited, and included in permanent collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, Newberry Library, and Denver Art Museum.
She has received honors including the AIGA Fellow (2013), Stiftung Buchkunst award, and Carl Hertzog award, with recognition from Eye magazine, Graphis, Type Directors Club, and Webbys.
