Dr. Cheryl Capek is Lecturer at the University of Manchester's Division of Psychology, Communication and Human Neuroscience. Her research examines the neural organization of language processing, including sign language, speechreading, and cross-modal plasticity.
Research employs fMRI, ERP, and behavioral methods to study language processing in deaf and hearing populations. Key interests include neural plasticity in sensory deprivation and sign language phonology.
