Cheralyn Hendrix

Dr. Cheralyn Hendrix is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her clinical specialty focuses on trauma surgery and surgical critical care. Her research examines wound patterns in mass casualty events, emergency surgical outcomes, and predictive models for trauma resuscitation. She completed her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, followed by general surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital and fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Her research interests center on improving trauma systems and emergency surgical care, with publications analyzing firearm injuries, colorectal emergencies, and transfusion protocols. She collaborates extensively on multicenter trials investigating clinical outcomes in emergency general surgery.
