Chenyu Tim Wang

Associate Professor Chenyu Tim Wang is a member of the Brain and Mind Centre at the University of Sydney. He holds a PhD, MEng, and BEng. His research focuses on multiple sclerosis (MS), neuroimaging, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in clinical settings. He co-leads the Computational Neuroimaging Team and has expertise in MRI techniques, digital biomarkers, and translational research.

His research interests include longitudinal trajectories of cognitive biomarkers in MS, neurodegeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and AI-driven MRI monitoring. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and holds fellowships from Multiple Sclerosis Australia and the Nerve Research Foundation.

Dr. Wang's work bridges clinical neurology and engineering, with contributions to AI tools for CT hemorrhage detection, lesion segmentation, and brain volume estimation. He collaborates on grants like the MRFF National Critical Infrastructure Initiative and leads projects on imaging biomarkers for MS progression.
