Dr. Cheng Yen Loo is a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia (UWA) within the School of Allied Health and the WA Centre for Health & Ageing (WACHA). Her work focuses on ageing, social care policy, falls prevention, and culturally diverse communities. She leads the MRFF Safe Recovery Project, a falls prevention initiative across WA and Victoria, and contributes to the FECH+ Program, evaluating post-hospital discharge support for carers. She holds a PhD in Sociology from UWA (2020–2023) and is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Edith Cowan University (2022–2025).
Her research integrates social justice theory and migration studies, emphasizing cultural sensitivity in healthcare policy. Key areas include caregiver wellbeing, religion/spirituality in care, and intergenerational family dynamics.
