Cheng Kui

Dr. Cheng Kui is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. He specializes in syngas production, renewable energy from biomass, wastewater treatment, photocatalysis, and sustainable energy conversion processes.

• Education: PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of New South Wales (2011), MSc from University of Alberta (2004), BEng from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2002)

His research focuses on Reaction Engineering, Wastewater Treatment, and Waste-to-Wealth technologies. He has contributed to advancements in glycerol steam reforming for syngas production and biomass-based energy systems.

Dr. Cheng has received recognition as a Chartered Engineer by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the UK.

He teaches courses including Advanced Chemical Reaction Engineering, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics I, Heat Transfer, and Sustainable Energy Conversion Processes, reflecting his expertise in chemical engineering and sustainability.
