Chen-Yun Guo

Chen-Yun Guo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Biology, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University, China. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Shanxi University and postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland, USA.

• Education: Bachelor (1996-2000) and Ph.D. (2000-2005) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Shanxi University.
• Professional Experience: Assistant Research Fellow at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (2005-2008); Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Maryland (2008-2010); Associate Professor at Xiamen University since 2010.

Guo's research focuses on protein structure and function, particularly in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of proteins involved in cancer signaling (e.g., Raf1 kinase inhibitory protein) and infectious diseases (e.g., Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins). His work leverages advanced NMR spectroscopy techniques to probe structural dynamics and interactions.

Recent publications highlight his contributions to protein-ligand interactions in drug discovery, prion protein oligomerization, and TB protein functional studies. He has developed innovative NMR methodologies for methyl group analysis and TROSY-based detection in large proteins.
