Dr. Chen Xu is an Associate Professor at the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center, University of Wyoming. He holds a PhD in Geography from Texas A&M University and specializes in geocomputation and geographic information science.
His research focuses on big geospatial data analytics, volunteered geographic information systems, and spatial modeling. Current projects include developing algorithms for disease outbreak detection and real-time wildfire forecasting.
Dr. Xu teaches courses including Introduction to GIS, Programming in Spatial Sciences, and Advanced GIS. His publications demonstrate expertise in spatial-temporal analysis, geosocial data mining, and hybrid digital-physical spatial interactions.
