Chen Guo is the Ruth D. Bridgeforth Professor of Telecommunications at the School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD) at James Madison University (JMU), where she began in 2017. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University, an M.A. from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and a B.A. from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China.

Her research focuses on human-centered design of interactive systems, spanning interaction design, user experience analysis, visual analytics, and digital media. She emphasizes interdisciplinary and international collaborations in creating novel user interfaces and data visualization solutions.

Chen teaches courses in user interaction design, user experience design, and information/data visualization. She has published extensively in journals, conferences, and poster presentations related to interaction design, information design, and human-computer interaction.
