About
Chen Cui is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia. He holds a Ph.D. in Astronautical Engineering from USC where he developed Vlasolver, a large-scale parallel framework for plasma modeling. His research focuses on spacecraft propulsion, plasma physics, and high-performance computing.
His work combines plasma physics, space engineering, and computational methods to study electric propulsion thrusters and space environments. Recent publications demonstrate advances in kinetic plasma simulations and turbulence analysis.
Professor Cui has received multiple awards including Best Paper at the International Electric Propulsion Conference. His current projects include developing predictive models for plasma behavior in next-generation space rockets.
