Chen Chen is an award-winning poet and educator currently teaching in the MFA program at New England College. Previously, he served as the Jacob Ziskind Poet-in-Residence at Brandeis University (2018-2022) and has held teaching positions at UMass Boston, University of Southern Maine, and Antioch University Los Angeles. He holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from Texas Tech University.
His research and creative practice center on contemporary poetry, experimental writing forms, and literary translation. He co-edits the online poetry journals Underblong and the lickety~split, emphasizing innovative and marginalized voices in literature. His forthcoming craft essay collection In Cahoots with the Rabbit God (2027) explores intersections of identity and creativity.
Chen Chen has received significant recognition including:
