Chen Chen

Dr. Chen (Cherise) Chen is a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Computer Vision at the School of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, UK. She is a core member of the Insigneo Institute, Center for Machine Intelligence, and Shef.AI community, and an ELLIS Scholar in the ELLIS Robust Machine Learning Program. She also holds an honorary research fellow position at Imperial College London.

Research Interests:

Dr. Chen’s research spans artificial intelligence in healthcare with a focus on cardiac care, multi-modal learning integrating vision, signals, and language, and trustworthy machine learning including uncertainty quantification, robustness, and explainability. She also explores adversarial machine learning, data-efficient learning, and generative modeling for data synthesis.

Her recent work includes organizing and presenting at top-tier venues such as MICCAI 2025, ICCV 2025, AIiH 2025, and leading special sessions on multimodal generative AI in healthcare.
