About
Dr. Chen Chen Jiang is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, University of Newcastle. She holds a PhD in Surgical Science (2008) and has been a Career Development Fellow supported by NHMRC, Cancer Institute NSW, and University of Newcastle grants. Her research focuses on cancer biology, particularly endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress mechanisms in tumor progression, cancer-nerve interactions, and immune system regulation in cancer.
Research Interests: Dr. Jiang's work pioneers studies on how cancer cells adapt to ER stress, linking chronic stress to treatment resistance. She expanded her focus to cancer neuroscience, exploring tumor innervation triggered by ER stress. Her studies also reveal mechanisms governing immune cell function in cancer microenvironments.
Awards: AACR Woman in Cancer Research Award (2015), AACR Sanofi-Aventis Scholar-in-training Award (2010), and early-career prizes from HMRI and University of Newcastle.
Collaborations: Active member of ASMR, ANZMTG, Melanoma Institute Australia, and AACR. Leads projects on glioblastoma nerve-cancer crosstalk and pancreatic cancer innervation.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates on proteomic and secretomic analyses of pancreatic cancer cells, and investigates Sortilin as a glioblastoma biomarker.
