Chelsea Whitaker

Dr. Chelsea Whitaker is an Assistant Professor of Vocal Coaching at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. Her career spans collaborative piano, vocal coaching, and performances across diverse genres including art song, opera, chamber music, and musical theater. She specializes in American art song, particularly works by living composers such as John Harbison and Jake Heggie.

Previously, she served on faculty at New England Conservatory and held roles at Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Boston University, and Boston Opera Collaborative. Her performance venues include the Kennedy Center, Merkin Hall, and Jordan Hall.

Whitaker holds a B.M. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, an M.M. from the University of Southern California, and a D.M.A. from New England Conservatory. Her training includes mentorship under Cameron Stowe, Jonathan Feldman, and Robert Weirich.
