Chelsea Walter serves as Director of the Office of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education and Lecturer at Colorado College. She specializes in descriptivist linguistics, TESOL education, and linguistic equity advocacy. With over a decade of experience teaching CLD students internationally and domestically, her work focuses on culturally responsive pedagogies and teacher training. She holds a Ph.D. in Foreign and Second Language Education from the University at Buffalo and a CELTA certificate from Masaryk University.
Her research interests include equitable teaching methodologies for linguistically diverse learners and institutional advocacy for linguistic equity. She has contributed to publications like Innovating the TESOL Practicum and presented at conferences such as TESOL International and CoTESOL.
Walter leads initiatives through the Colket Center, advising CLD students and faculty. She serves on professional boards including TESOL Membership Professional Council and CoTESOL, and teaches courses like GS201 Academic Writing and ED477 Culturally Responsive Teaching.
