Dr. Chelsea Berns is a Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Salisbury University. She earned her PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology from Iowa State University (2013) and a BS in Zoology and Music from Colorado State University (2005). Her research employs landmark-based geometric morphometrics to analyze morphological variations in hummingbird bill morphology.
Her research interests span evolutionary biology, avian morphology, and ecological adaptations in hummingbirds. She is dedicated to pedagogical innovation and course development in biological sciences.
Outside academia, she balances teaching with family life and maintains a passion for piano.
