Charlotte Walker-Said is an Associate Professor of African Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York (CUNY), and a Visiting Professor at STRIGES (2023-2024). She previously taught at Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and Webster University. She holds a PhD in History from Yale University (2009).
Her research examines:
- Modern African history and colonial legacies
- Human rights frameworks in Central Africa
- Policing and security institutions in Chad
- Post-colonial state development
