Charlotte Sutherell

Dr. Charlotte Sutherell serves as a Principal Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chemistry within the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Imperial College London. Her role encompasses comprehensive undergraduate teaching responsibilities, curriculum design, lecturing, and coordination of the Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry degree programme. She actively contributes to the department's pastoral team and has served as Departmental Disabilities Officer since 2020, demonstrating deep commitment to student welfare and inclusivity initiatives across the institution.

Her academic credentials include a first-class MChem from the University of Oxford (2011), where she completed final-year research on peptide mimetics under Professor Andrew D. Hamilton, followed by a PhD in Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Cambridge. Her doctoral work with Professor Steven V. Ley and Dr. James D. Brenton developed chemical probes targeting bromodomains for ovarian cancer therapeutics.
