Charlotte Rees-Sidhu

Charlotte Rees-Sidhu is an Adjunct Professor at Monash University’s Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education (MCSHE) and Dean for Research at Murdoch University’s College of Science, Health, Engineering and Education (SHEE). With 20+ years in health professions education research, she specializes in healthcare professionalism, workplace learning, and qualitative methodologies. She led a 10-year research program on healthcare professionalism, co-authored a seminal book on workplace dilemmas, and contributed over 150 peer-reviewed publications. Previously, she held roles as Director of Curriculum for Medicine at Monash (2015–2019) and Professor of Education Research at the University of Dundee (2010–2015). Her editorial roles include Deputy Editor for Medical Education (2008–2017) and Associate Editor for Advances in Health Sciences Education (2015–2017).

Research Interests: Her work focuses on workplace learning dynamics, professionalism in healthcare, narrative inquiry, and qualitative methodologies. She has pioneered studies on dignity in work-integrated learning, OSCE development for healthcare professionals, and decision-making in critical care settings.

Awards & Honors: Fellowships from the Higher Education Academy and Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), and a research grant from Monash University (2016).

Grants & Projects: Led or co-led 20+ projects, including studies on healthcare graduate preparedness, professionalism in dietetics, and dignity in clinical placements. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health.
