Charlotte Haendler is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business, where she joined after completing her Ph.D. in Finance from Boston College in May 2023.
Her educational background includes a joint master's degree in financial economics from Bocconi University and HEC Paris, and prior professional experience at the European Central Bank in the Market Infrastructure and Payments division.
Dr. Haendler's research focuses on fintech, banking, household finance, and asset pricing, with particular emphasis on how digitalization reshapes traditional banking and the role of retail consumers in financial intermediation. She investigates consumer protection programs' impacts on financial markets and presents findings such as her upcoming solo paper on bank digitalization at the 2025 Financial Intermediation Research Society Conference in Seoul.
