Charlette Moe is an Associate Professor and serves as Assistant Director of Choral Activities and Coordinator of the Master of Music degree in Music Education at the Challey School of Music, North Dakota State University (NDSU). She joined NDSU in 2008 and holds multiple roles, including co-graduate coordinator. Her office is located in 117B Music Education Building.
Dr. Moe holds a D.M.A. in conducting from NDSU, an M.S. in music education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and a B.M. in music education from Concordia College, Moorhead. Her professional background includes over 15 years of teaching in the Minnesota Public School System, where she instructed all grade levels and was twice nominated for Minnesota Teacher of the Year (1999, 2004).
Her research interests focus on innovative music education methodologies, choral conducting techniques, and the integration of Kodály and Orff approaches into classroom and choral instruction. She has contributed to the field through her editorial work on the Music of the Americas monograph (co-edited with ACDA) and frequent conference presentations across North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Michigan. Dr. Moe is also actively involved in adjudicating vocal contests and serves on committees such as the R&S chair for women’s literature for NCACDA.
As an educator, she teaches graduate and undergraduate music education courses, supervises student teachers, and leads ensembles like Cantemus and the University Chamber Singers. Her professional affiliations include ACDA, AOSA, and OAKE. Prior to NDSU, she served as adjunct faculty at Concordia College and Minnesota State University Moorhead, and was closely associated with the Kodály Institute at Minnesota State University.
