Dr. Charles Read is a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Faculty of History and an Affiliated Lecturer in the Faculty of Economics. His research explores the political economy of financial crises and famines in Britain, Ireland, and the British Empire over two centuries.
