Charles H. Culp

Charles H. Culp is a Professor and Associate Director of the Energy Systems Laboratory at Texas A&M University. He is affiliated with the Department of Architecture, the Center for Health Systems & Design, and the Center for Housing and Urban Development. His expertise bridges architecture and engineering, focusing on high-performance building systems and energy efficiency.

Dr. Culp holds a B.S. in Physics from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (1970) and a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Iowa State University (1975). His research emphasizes improving building comfort through energy-efficient technologies, student research engagement, and integrating architecture with advanced systems.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), LEED-AP, and a Fellow of ASHRAE (FASHRAE). His work spans measurement/verification methodologies, airflow technology, and optimizing building performance through interdisciplinary collaboration.
