Charles Adler

Charles Adler is a Professor of Physics and Department Chair at St. Mary's College, where he has been affiliated since 1997. He has previously worked at Cleveland State University and the Naval Research Laboratory. His research focuses on Atomic Physics, Atmospheric Optics, and Physics Education, with a unique interest in the intersection of science and science fiction.

Adler is the author of the book Wizards, Aliens and Starships: Physics and Math in Fantasy and Science Fiction, which explores scientific accuracy in fictional works. He actively contributes to academic discourse through his blog Wizards, Aliens, Starships and More, discussing topics ranging from physics in pop culture (e.g., the Flash's speed), weight loss science, and the importance of diversity in physics education.
