Chao Shi

Chao (Amanda) Shi is an Assistant Professor at Binghamton University's School of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering, specializing in human factors and cognitive engineering. She holds a PhD from Pennsylvania State University and a BS from Wuhan University, China. Her research focuses on visual behavior, autonomous driving systems, healthcare applications, and situation awareness, often employing eye-tracking and virtual reality technologies. She leads the Human Cognitive and Visual Behavior (HCVB) Lab, exploring applications in smart manufacturing, STEM education, and human-robot interaction.
