Chalkidi Maria

Chalkidi Maria is an Associate Professor at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus. She holds a BSc in Informatics (1997), MSc in Information Systems (1999), and PhD in Computer Science (2003) from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) under an EU Marie Curie Fellowship (2004–2005). Her research focuses on Machine Learning, Knowledge Discovery in distributed environments (P2P networks, sensor networks), Web technologies, and database systems. She has contributed to projects under the DB-NET research group at AUEB and serves on program committees for international conferences in Machine Learning and Data Mining.
