Her work emphasizes children's agency in language acquisition within home education contexts and employs art-based methods to capture young children's perspectives.
Recent scholarly output (2023-2025) reveals consistent focus on family multilingualism, intergenerational cultural transmission, and children's emotional responses to language learning. Her publications demonstrate methodological innovation through participatory approaches that position children as active researchers in their linguistic development.
Her notable recognitions include:
- Piccolingo Award from the European Commission (2011) for promoting early language learning to parents
- Prize winner at the Seventeenth Annual Postgraduate Researcher Conference (2023)
Morgan actively supervises undergraduate and postgraduate major projects while contributing to academic governance through committee roles. Her professional engagement extends to organizing symposia on intergenerational learning and developing frameworks for child participation in research.
She is a core member of ARU's Centre for Education Research on Identities and Inequalities (CERII) and Early Childhood Research Group. As founder of the BAAL Research Involving Children Special Interest Group (RICH SIG) and Executive Committee member of the British Association for Applied Linguistics, she shapes national research agendas in child language development.
